The majority of our products come from Burma (now called Myanmar) though we have now expanded our sources and you can find other hand made products from other parts of the world.

The idea for the company was formulated when , Mi Mi Tin Tun Raschke, returned home to Burma on a family holiday one year and realised that although there was an influx of merchandise from China, India and Thailand there was still room for new styles and high quality products. She was also keen to promote Burma on a more positive note, being a country which has predominantly be known for its political strife.  It was important to her that the western world became aware of the wonderful handicrafts of this land, so with the aid of her close friend, Francoise Romand, Earth, Wind & Fire was born.  Our aim is to provide a very personlised service to our customers and although we are hoping to sell items via the web we would much prefer to meet our customers in our very small yet welcoming boutique!

A little information on Burma:

Burma's rich culture is almost unknown in the West despite it occupying the largest mainland area in S.E. Asia, its political isolation has reduced contact with the rest of the world since it gained independence from Britain in 1948.

Although Burma borders India, China, Bangladesh, Laos and Thailand it has succeeded in keeping its very own identity due to not being easily accessible, it is surrounded by high mountains and dense forests on 3 sides and the sea on the 4th.. It is a multi faceted country thanks to its many ethnic groups who all specialise in their own crafts such as lacquer, rattan woodcarving, glass blowing, umbrellas, tapestries, puppets, pottery and textiles. Our aim is to show the craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation. We buy direct from small cottage industries and although we design some of our collection we also buy traditional items.
